I QUIT

I finished typing my letter of resignation and will be submitting it later today. I have dreamed of quitting this job for some time now, but it was in hopes of finding a job closer to home. I can't help but feel excited and scared about the future (in terms of a career). Will I want to go back to work? Will I have difficulty finding another job? Am I crazy for walking away from such a secure job? Oh wait, I would be crazy to stay here and spend another year apart from my husband! Here is a picture of me in my office, it was taken a few years ago. Notice, I look much younger and refreshed. In fact, my hair looks a lot thicker. Anyway, the student is holding a bottle of hot sauce; he loved hot sauce, I believe he earned that as a reward.

I am so glad you are moving on. Change is difficult but good! What kind of job are you looking for?

Marla, I probably won't be working this next school year since we'll be moving again in the fall. Once we get settled in to wherever we'll be, I might look for another teaching job. I haven't decided on what kind of school I will look at....public vs. private. I would be interested in working with parents, in an advocate type role, to inform them of parent rights and what to look for in special education programming. Are you still doing any advocate work? I had the opportunity of working with a previous director of spec. services from one of FW's "premier" school districts.....not very impressed.

I just wrote a comment but it didn't post?!?! I'm sad. Anyways, I guess I'll just wait a little while and see if it was just a glich or something.

Kelly, to respond to your previous blog.
90210 is coming out with a new season!!! My sister is working on it and Jenny Garth and Tori Spelling are coming back... as mom's or something. I don't know too much. Sister is in NY right now doing some sort of red carpet publicity thing for the network.

Jenny Garth is coming back as the high school counselor and they are discussing Tori's new role. The lady who was married to Jessy on full house, she is going to be one of the moms or something!

Good luck with the next stage in life. If you are a special education instructor, you won't have a problem. Several of my former roommates married military men and have been successful at moving their teaching careers with them as duty stations change.

It will be an exciting adventure!

My sister said "Aunt Becky" is a tool. She caught her in the bathroom at work winking and talking to herself in the mirror. haha.

That is hilarious about "Aunt Becky", not sure that I will be tuning into the new season of 90210, it sounds as promising as "Saved by the Bell, the College Years".

Congratulations Kelly! That had to be the best feeling in the world, even if you don't know quite where it will lead yet. You are dedicated to your profession and to a great cause, so you will find something that you love doing wherever you guys settle down.

Can't wait to see you guys next weekend!
