Oh, the faces she makes

MC has so many expressions at 6 months, this girl cracks me up. Doesn't she look annoyed/bored in the last picture? I hate to think of the looks I'll get when she is 13. I can't help but feel a little sad that DH is missing this part of her life. It's hard for me to remember what she was like when he left and his point of reference when we talk on the weekends. I know he is missing her and I try to keep him updated on the little things she does.

I did a lot of reading this past weekend and came across this article discussing blogs of military wives. I read through some of the blogs and it was nice to find other women that are facing some of the same challenges. I know, I know, I am new and most of my challenges are yet to come. I feel like a sponge trying to soak in as much as I can about this new world of mine. Most of the women have husbands that are currently deployed whereas mine is away at school. A few of the women welcomed home wounded men and one blog was that of a war widow. Their stories brought tears to my eyes, scratch that.....I was a sobbing mess. It takes a great deal of courage to share such personal experiences and I am thankful these individuals are willing to speak so openly.

Onto something a little less serious. Since moving in with my parents, yes, I live with my parents at the moment and any comments regarding this issue can be kept to yourselves.....I have found myself completely obsessed with Beverly Hills, 90210. It has always been a guilty pleasure and now I can watch it without Nathan making fun of me:) My friends and I watched this show when we were growing up. It wasn't until my adult years that I realized how cheesy and unrealistic some of the story lines could be. Oh well, I will continue to watch until my other obsession begins.....The Hills. Do I see a trend here?

those pics are adorable! i'm glad you posted some more! it must be very hard knowing nathan is missing these super cute stages with the bean...at least mack won't even remember in a few months :) not that that makes it any better. i too love bev hill reruns, but never time my schedule just so so that i'm able to see them. and i am very obsessed with the hills! what happened to it? i can't find it on anymore? did i miss the finale and all that? NO NO! tell me it isn't so! you need to come visit soon and we can watch tv all day long! that would be a dream! you really need to netflix brothers and sisters. jac can attest to that. it's super addictive and really well done, in my opinion. good cast, hot cast! i have a new obsession with rob lowe! i'll have to check out those other blogs.

I should come visit you, you will have to let me know of a good weekend. I saw a preview for The Hills yesterday and it starts up again March 24. The previews looked good, I wish you were here so we could watch together....tear.

I have recently discovered the repeats of 90210 too! Man, Dylan mcKay is still SO hot, but why did I never notice that Andrea was like in her mid 30's even then. oh well. Not into the hills, i never watch mtv anymore, but you have got to check out Brothers and Sisters kel. It really is like my new American Dreams. Remember how we both liked that one? And its on sunday evenings and no matter what happens each week, i end up with a few tears and a fuzzy feeling. So you need to check it out. I am glad you are finding blogs out there to help explore the situation at hand and know that there are others who have faced your challenges! It is great to have people around you that love you and support you, but also a plus to have complete strangers that you can relate to almost even more and know in the whole grand scheme of things they can be a support system too.
Mac is a DOLL!!!!!! And i know you are planning on visiting Mel, but come see me too! Bring the mac and just come for the day to shop and eat or even stay over!
miss you, love, jac

I know Jac, they all look so old. We didn't have wrinkles when we were high school, how come we didn't catch on? I must look into this show that you and Melissa keep talking about. What station is it on? Indy would be a fun weekend adventure too.

I am glad you have found a show to watch and "escape" for a while. We do that all the time!

I bet it is hard to think about what Nathan is missing out on. I can't imagine the wondering and the pressure you are under. It is good to read some of those blogs and have more understanding of other wives and what they go through. I know I am thankful for the blogs I read of other families that have chronically ill children. It just helps to know you are not alone.
Once again, your baby has the cutest chubby cheeks. What a little doll!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Its always nice to know whos taking a peak into your life isnt it! : )

It is hard thinking about all the things that they are missing out on when they are away. Sometimes I get so tired and rundown doing it on my own and almost feel bitter that he gets a break and then I get a little hug or a request to be a special little three year olds best friend and I feel horrible that i'm getting the honor of that and daddy has to miss it. Its amazing that there are men like our husband willing to do what they do at the cost to which they do it.

Enjoy the remote while you have it. I know I'm enjoying my crap tv as flyboy calls it! Hope you stop back by!

Kelly, you can also watch the show on ABC.com along with all their other shows. That's what I do the first half of my day's off is catch up on missed tv shows. Mac is looking more and more like Nathan everyday. I'm sure that if I did up some old photo albums I can find pics of Nathan making those same faces!
I've been recently obsessed with John and Kate plus 8 thats on TLC (I think) I can't wait until they come out with a marathon... I'm calling out sick! I just can't get enough of those munchkins! Anyhow Troy's been talking about joining the military in the next year after he finishes the rest of his schooling. I'm a little nervous about that, especially hearing how much you miss Nathan and all. I guess time will tell and we'll see how we can work through it if he does decided that that is what he wants to do. Miss you and all the girls. We are planning a trip home hopefully this coming spring so we'll all definately have to do a lake weekend or something.
